Bottled water is not necessarily cleaner or safer than most tap water. The best way to determine the purity of water is by evaluating the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), see above chart, which originate from natural sources, sewage, urban run-off, industrial wastewater, and chemicals used in the water treatment process. The lower the total dissolved solids in the water, the purer the water.
